Bethany is a current Ph.D. student that graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering in May of 2022 before starting at Notre Dame. Her current research interests lie in the intersectionality between public health and antibiotic-resistance genes in the environment. Moving forward, Bethany is interested in expanding her horizons by studying the ways in which wastewater-based epidemiology and molecular sequencing can be used to inform gaps in our understanding of antibiotic-resistance genes and their movement in our environment. When Bethany isn't in the lab, she enjoys watching movies, jogging along a lakeshore, trying new foods, and taking up any excuse to hang out with a dog.
